just spent the weekend camping on carusoe island

the flathead are thick down there atm

i landed 51 flattys and my maste got 42 from friday arvo till sunday noon

all on lures, most on atomic prongs some on squidgey flick baits

my mate was getting them on old school mr twister twin tails

and we got a few on hard bodys, bombers frenzys mad mullet.

didnt touch a bait all weekend

most of these fish were legal biggest went 62

except for 6 that made it to the barby and 4 that came home all were released

yeah gus it was over the top

we found our camp has a flathead feeding station right in front of it

you could pick up a rod walk 100m along the beach flicking a plastic and get 6 in 20 casts

back to camp for a beer and do it again an hour later

they were in the same spots every time so we'd fire out lures and see who would get the one off this mud clump or that root ball

best fishing trip i've had in ages

plenty of bream being pulled on bait rocket

and we saw tailor, whiting a few trevs and what looked like a thready boated

watched one guy fight a kingfish for over

an hour before loosing it at the boat

the current was so fast with the big tides i was using 3/8 and 1/2 oz jig heads and 4" atomic prongs

no interest from bream a few plastics bitten in half and off by tailor

didnt really matter

probably amber colour with gold fleck in prongs and evil minnow in flick baits

Now thats whatI call a weekend to remember so I guess we'll here about this at the S.O.O late one night :laugh: :laugh: Only one fault I can see in the weekend you didn't carry the beer with you.Welldone boy's we couldn't even buy one yesterday for the pirtek comp.
