queensland My bream social ! xD

Just a quick thanks to everyone who planned and set-up the social. :silly:

Well our morning started to a shaky start with a quater to 5 start. Dad (mac) Friend Norton (Norton28) and I all were ready to go at 5 to. and embarked on a 45 minute drive to gold coast. speeding down the highway was fun xD

When we arrived a little lost and curios i noticed a pretty car. Then soon enough 51MPL popped out (his shirt gave it away ) good thing he was still hanging around. so he gave us our numbers I was number 15. Where was everybody? at this point it was around 10 to 6 and daylight was much upon us. so we found our closest maccas grabbed a coffee and headed off towards the casino (as 51MPL told us too and we knew nowhere) soo as we searched around as lost as the GPS (stupid thing sucks). we found the Casino. and litterally chucked our line out in the water surrounding it. got a hit next to a fallen tree and dad got a hit somewhere around where i was. but no fish so we headed out in search of fishy areas. Fished around in every little bit of water we could access being land based. so at around 10 or 11 we found a small bridge and under it was a tiny amount of water around 2 metres to the other side. But we could see some massive bream hanging around and even tiny tiny little ones. there was a school of what looked like mullet. so we stayed there for around half an hour. i found three bream feeding of the rocks with in arms reach off me. two of them would of been around 35cm and the 3rd would of been close to 40 it was amazing (atleast to me) as they showed no interest i moved up a little bit. as i wound in my powerbait (that i cut in half to make smaller) i got a massive hit. it went straight to the rocks as i wound it would go further up the water. as i swung my rod around pillars to get to the fish i found my self buried in the rocks so i pulled and my line gave way. annoyed we took off. we spent the remainder of the day near a beachy like area praying for bream. so by the end of the day we had nothing not anyfish :'( . as everyone pulled in we did hear much good news. as we waited we noticed 51MPL leaving so we thought screw it. disapointing day, lets just go.

so all in all wasn't great. Have the bream finished spawning yet?

have they returned? sure doesnt look that way xD

I wasn't 'leaving' for good lol, i had to go get some bread, onions and sauce for the bbq! When i got back Jono asked where you guys went and i thought i saw you at the park so he went around looking but couldn't find you

i had a feeling you went to buy supplies for the BBQ. but we werent sure and dad was keen to leave i guess. sounds like fun if your keen to go landbased with us. maybe next time we might have some idea on what we are doing. Or dad will have bought a kayak one of the two xD
