Hey all just thought i would let you all know that webbfunk and i will be having a session down at the Toowong Boat Club near UQ this sunday arvo/evening.

Anyone else interested let us know we are going to have our first go at catching a shark, so anyone with experience is more than welcome.

We are planning on getting there about 3.30-4.00pm and cast for some livies.

Not 100% percent sure to be honest.

I need a new set up so we are going to head to that place at underwood on sunday mornin on the way back from the coast.

I am sure they will be able to help us out.

Suggestion are more than welcome though?

Its my opinion that a lot of people over fish for river sharks.

You can catch them on quite light gear.

I would look at a Sturdy Spin reel combo. 20-30lb mono line and wire trace.

The reason i would get this set up is you can use it for other things as well. You can also get quote affordable combo's.

If you want something a bit pricier, a good baitcaster is also a good option. That way you can use it for Salmon and other good quality river species.

Basically though make sure you have a suitably long trace. Those 20 inch jobs just dont cut it. Id be using 4-5 foot of wire. Nearly every tackle store has the wire and clamps to make traces of this size.

Hey guys just wondering what you get at the toowong boat club is it any good there? we usuall go ut towards the port but toowong would be heaps closer to us if it's any good.
