queensland rous diver whiting

went for a solo run this morning to the rous hoping for a few diver whiting....i wanted to give the boat a good run as i had i serviced this week so i went for a quick look at the sandhills.didnt get a bite there so went to the rous...1st up i couldn't seem to get past the little reefies there,i moved 3 or 4 times then i changed from live worms to the red gulp worms...must say the gulps really produced today only got 30 odd but all where real good quality..they ranged from 25cm up to 30 and real fat whiting...left them biting but with the rain coming i ran for home

Nice work roscoe getting into some whiting on plastics. May i ask were you cutting them down, or running stinger hooks on the gulp worms?

perky i was cuttin them to bout an inch long ..i just fed them on the hook like a normal worm but made sure just the tip of the hook was poking through the end of the worm

sure are tasty little buggers....good fun to catch when u find a good school of them as well

Do you find them in deep water in the channel or up on the banks?

i was fishing around the 4.5-4.8 mtr mark..didn't get them any shallower just got little reefies
