What to fish for in lake kurwongbah

hey guys

im planing a fishing trip to lake kurwongbah but not sure what i should fish for and where to fish. i was thinking using bait but i might take some lures aswell. can anyone give me some advice?

Bass, Saratoga, yellas, Tilapia, Silver perch. Worms for tilapia but dont throw em back, Live shrimp for most others or lures. Torrens road entry and fish from the bank but dont forget to get a licence mate.

You do not need a SIP for fishing Kurwongbah but if you do decide to get one for bother ndams such as NPD please nominate NPD to receive the funds.

Dog biscuits, doesn't have to be anything flash.

oh ok. so eels and turtles wont try to get into the trap.

Eeels and turtles wont get into a shrimp trap.

No Silvers in Kbah, you may also catch Spangled Perch and Tandanus.

There is Cabomba weed in Kbah please make sure you clean your shrimp traps if you are going to use them anywhere else.

You may get the occasional eel in a trap. I pulled one up in a trap in Yabba Creek a few years ago.

If you use dog biscuits for bait be prepared for the occasional lost chihuahua.

Sorry to hijack your topic mate but I was just wondering about putting shrimp traps in lake K.

I've got a box trap still waiting to be used. What do I need to do before I just toss it from the bank? Are there any rules about what traps to use, naming the pot etc

yeah a mate and i went for abit of a look the other week and a great spot we found was the end of ski road take the right dirt track and you'll and up at a nice shady spot with a bit of depth and we managed a 70cm toga on a river 2 sea bubble pop.

Early: about an hour before dawn when the sky turn grey.

Late: dusk until whenever.

If I get there I'll be aiming at around 5 am.

I usually start my morning sessions with surface lures then shallow runners. Don't often use deep divers as there's not a great deal of depth and lots of weedbeds.

As far as I'm aware, only members of the ski club, rowing club and model sailing boat club can put crafts on the water. Fishing is bank only at present.

Public access areas are the only places you can fish from.

Ended up not going this morning. Woke up with a fat head from a good port session last night!!!

honestly, fish anywhere where the is a break in the weeds, ive caught fish from lots of places, some in quite shallow water aswell. just explore and you will find spots. some work betteer than others on some days.

hey guys

had a good days fishing a the lake today i got 4 tilapia, 4 catfish and a small bass.

dont stress out guys i killed all the tilapia. so carnt wait to go back again. so carnt wait till saturday early morning fishing trip.

.The tandanus are underrated as a table fish just a bit harder than others to prepare.

Years and years ago we used to catches thousands of tilapia there

Biggest we have caught went 45cm, they pull like trains when they get that big

oh ok. yea the lager one i got but up a really good fight. i wish i could get one that big.
