After 2 hours of debate yesterday, following an argument introduced by the LNP to State Parliament, the Green/ALP coalition have dropped the $90 Snapper Tax idea thanks to the attendees and ferocious bagging (pardon the pun) at the meetings Gad has been keeping us informed on.

No change to the planned bans though.

Thanks for the update ellicat.

good news.. bad news... is this that much of a surprise, are they dropping the other $70 levy proposal..

This whole thing is a smoke and mirrors game by the government/greens. Give people 4 choices tell them to pick one.. everyone screams it`s going to hit our hip pocket, lets yell about that..

So called voices of the rec fishers(at least one recieves g`ment funding, others have their own self interests) "say guys we have to pick one and hope for the best,go for option ???

lets make a noise, but lets concentrate on the levy"

So now the $90 levy is dropped, every one(including the government and the greens)are happy

people will grumble about what ever bans come in (but not howl the halls down),but are feeling warm and fuzzy because they had a win where the $90 levy is concerned
