your sounder tells you there is a lot of life below the boat, you try everything all to no evail, how would you try to get them to take a bite of your bait ??? open to all types of fishing !!! plastic's, bait and live baiting !

I'd attach the bait to a hook, the hook to a line, swivel, sinker and all of that to a reel and rod, then carefully lower the said bait over the side of the boat and down to the fishies.

But that's just me.

i would have a go at smaller baits,its like if you just had a big feed and cant eat no more but if someone offers you a bit of cake or a lollie you eat it,might be the same with fish if they are full and not feeding a smaller offering they might snap up.

Make sure the label on the side of the lure isn't scratched off, if the fish can't read it or it's not an expensive enough brand, they won't take it

ditto works 99% of the time,the times it doesn`t is when you forget to wash your hands after your smoke, before rebaiting

never give up they maybe waiting for the turn of the tide or something similar burley up and present your baits as best you can down through the burley trail they take it soon enough
