resolved Why is the AFO website so....Sloooowwwww????

Does anyone else have problems with this website being so slow?

I'm on cable, running latest firefox and windows XP and this would have to be one of the slowest websites around.

Is it based in some foreign country or something?

It's based in Brisbane, hence the word 'Brisbane' in the site name . I find it reasonablly quick.

Yeah im having the same problem, the past 2 days i've been on its been very slow and still is at the moment

What browser You using blue? it sometimes takes me 30-40 seconds to move from one forum post to the next...gets a bit frustrating at times.

I dont have anywhere near this problem with any other sites.

I RECKON!!! I said this like a week ago in another thread and every said \"No its not slow.\" I'm glad to see others are having the same problem.

I'm running 1.5mb/s download speed and it takes like 15 - 20 secs to load a page sometimes! All other sites are fine.

Have a look at how many user's are on line :pinch:

it's a busy site hence it is slower plus I have found that when it rains the whole net seems to slow not sure why but it doe's probly telstra ????:evil:

Yea I was starting to wonder the same thing about the slowness as other websites are loading at normal speed for wireliess broadband.

yeah its way slow I'm having to have a second site to look at while I wait for the pages to load....

I guess its not to bad as some of the girls on the other sites keep me busy.... :whistle:

I thought it was my comp, but then this is the only website to be so slow, it doesnt matter how many memebrs are logged on at the time, the is just an awesome way to learn the true art of waiting around................ :sick:

i find it is exremely slow as well. i usually have a couple of sites open at once, on here i click on what i want & go to one of the other sites while it loads;) come back & read what i was looking at..

i put it down to so much going on with each page. with all the 'stuff' that is in the side columns i think it is what is slowing it down.. still nice pages to look at..

no the forum upgrade did not contribute to the speed of the site.

we are working towards making the site faster, yet this is a tricky nature as this site is relatively complex compared to many other sites although it may not seem. It is a top priority and one we are working on.
