Double hooks

G'day, I was after a bit of advise - I'm thinking of changing the trebles on some of my lures to double hooks in the hope that I can have a slightly larger hook for a similar weight/bulk, and that it might lead to less snags and a more natural action on the lure.

Does anyone have experience with this and think that it's a good or bad idea?

I'm thinking about changing to doubles not only with bibbed hard bodies, but also maybe surface lures, bibless cranks, blades etc.

Any thoughts, ideas or opinions welcome :-)

-Steve.

On some of my smaller lures I've taken both trebles off and replaced them with a single hook at the tail with the hookpoint upwards.

Haven't noticed any reduction in hookups and better snag resistance.

I've found this really good on my medium size Rios prawns used for flathead. Much easier to unhook them!!

I've also done the same thing on some of my bass trolling Lures.
