Quick Bush trek for Bass (inc video)

I have not had much of an opportunity to chase some wild Bass in January (most of which my time had been taken up by work) but i finally had a chance to investigate a couple of my local creeks. I didn't hold much hope after all this rain, but i was pleasantly surprised with what i got served up. In a good session of about 3 hours, 13 Bass were nailed, only a couple over the 30 mark, majority around 20/25cm. Still, very happy knowing that not all the fish were wiped away in the recent rains.

Although, let me tell ya, a lot of parts where i was wading through, the creek did have a distinct 'rapid' flavour to it Nothing dangerous, lets just say my 'tackle' got wet as much as my lures did

Also on a plus, managed to grab some footage of a little Bass nailing my Soft Shell Cicada surface lure. Very happy. Enjoy.

That was the flavour of the day at this particular spot. I lobbed in a cast (due to crazy overhanging trees) and when the lure hit the water i got a strike before i could even wind. Hence throwing in the Surface lure. With great results!

It was a nice little session....the cameraman nailed the footage I think

Highlight for the day was seeing a baby platypus. With the volume of water that had gone through there, the little fella was still doing its thing!

yeah you got that right. The Platypus was hammering away upstream, a lovely way to finish off the day.

and monkey Alan, a very peaceful spot up that way. You know you're amongst it when you're rubbing shoulders with a Platypus and an assortment of hummingbirds!
