Which Paint job for the old Jeep??

Ive bought an old 85 model Jeek Cherokee as some people have seen in another post. Kurt (madmullet) as usual, has come to the rescue with his services and offered to paint it for me, big help as the budget is tight. But I know he's a qualified spaypainter / butcher / shark fisheman / all round nice guy so whatever paint scheme we decide on its going to look rockin!

I've been tossing up the idea of straigh olive drab with some white stars on the doors, mat black bull bar and rear gaurd and some gloss olive drab rims but since then have thought about full camo.

There are a few different designs out there, australian army dpp, desert cam ect.. So I'll put a few pics up and see what you guys think will look really good.

As we go along I'll post the progress pics.

Heres some australian camo, depending on where they are deployed they use olive drad or army tan as the base color and then a 3 or 4 color camo.

Personally, i like the desert camo, like on the US Humvee. It would look amazing!

EDIT: The humvee in the the 3rd picture is the one im referring to.

How bout matt black? Cheap and looks tuff, I got a customer right into hunting and 4x4 and every car he buys paints it matt black and it looks tough as........... can understand you wanting camo/olive though cos after all it is a Jeep and the brand has some heritage.

I would go the desert style camo look, I think the straight olive is a bit plain. Maybe get 'AFO Militia' painted on the side and head down to Moses favorite fishing spot :woohoo: :whistle:

I like straight olive. The olives in the picks posted are a bit oordinary. Prefer ones that are a bit sandy olive. MOre like baby poo.

I got this t-shirt when I was managing the transport and logistics for the Navistar MRAP in the US (I'm pretty sure a few of them found their way to Australia too).

Nah mate, too smart for USMC (that's a joke by the way, I know, am related to, and am friends with many marines) and too many injuries for the other branches of the US military.

Navistar just happened to be one of my customers and when they started building MRAPs we handled getting everything to the plant, testing grounds, etc.

I recon a mix of old school and army.

Flat olive green and a big strip of woodgrain down the whole side.
