Portable GPS/Depth Sounders

Be a bit carefull with the electric drill batteries. I dont think that they will have the capacity to run the navman for too long.

According to the navman website the sounder drags 150 milliamps with the backlight on but doesnt give details for when it is off.

The sounder powers down at 10.5 volts.

With the backlight on in theory the battery from Bias will last for 4.4 hrs aprox.

With the light off will be a lot longer.

I have had a look at the batteries I have on my drills and none of them give an amphere capacity but the 2 el cheepo ones I have the batteries weigh less than half the weight of the ryobi ones i have.

I dont think that you would get more than 10 minutes running a bilge pump off one as even the smallest bilge pump woud draw 2

amps.

i have panasonic drills they have 3.5 amps at 12v but they are a lot better than most other brand in the battery department

mmm, it seems as though we all agree I would need a pretty damn good drill battery (expensive!)to get much value, so the Bias one is the winner.

Feral has generously offered a suitable charger, so it's all falling into place.
