Outboard servicing

Hey there i bought a 4.2m tinnie with a 30 hp merc, it runs well, never had a prob, but its due for service, can anyone recommend a decent outboard mechanic who good and doesnt try and rip you off, i live at doomben, and spend alot of time at wynnum, so anywhere close to them would be better.

Wondall Rd Marine at Wynnum merc specialist family owned been there for years,honest,reliable and only does what is necessary. does not look for extras to pad out the bill.

Cheers mate, thats where the boat came from actualy, wasnt sure they serviced engines, do they do electrics as well?

Been quoted $300 for full service of my 30 merc, does that sound reasonable

yep..... i got a honda 40 4str and mine is at least 450 for its 100 hr service

i would go to holt marine, there are located north side.

Ive had my little mariner serviced there and the guy was great, he showed me what to do and knew ALOT.. Also was a really nice guy

. They do electrics as well I had my battery, nav lights , rectifier and sounder/ chart plotter fitted by them when I bought the boat . Good blokes that are straight shooters with no sales pitch to earn a few extra bucks .

as ray said ive been down there a number of times in the last few weeks and jason and his dad are all ways willing to help and spend the time to explain how , why were and so on.

all so there prices are pritty good and if they say it needs it then it needs it same as if it dont need it than that is good enough for me i dont need it...

VERY BIG + 1 from me...

also im in the middle of prop problems and jason has yet again sorted out my little 60 hp merc

cant talk any more highly of them to everyone...

Thanks for the advice, iv booked it in to wondel rd marine, its where the boat was bought n i know that area very well, they seem very professional, listening to what they said on the phone
