Some of my homemade lures

I've been tinkering around with timber lures for about 15 months now and finally starting to get a little more serious about it. My first batch I was lucky that a mate painted up and they look pretty good. Most are for jack and barra to be twitched hard across the top of fallen trees and through snags!

They are made of red cedar, white beech and silky oak with aluminum bibs and twisted wire eyelets. Takes a fair while to make them. The timber blank (rough cut out) is carved using a stanley knife, then sanded to shape by hand or dremel.

Now I have around 90 lures in various stages of slow production. I've put up a post on my blog with more info if anyone wants to check it out http://www.australianfish.com.au/lures/my-homemade-lures.html

Also, if anyone has a good idea for a name for my lures, I'd appreciate some ideas! If someone nails a good name I'll make them a couple of lures to their liking/specs.

Ben, you should call them MD's cast off's ;)

Sorry Mark if it wasn't more obvious. Taken from the linked blog post:

Here are some of the fruits of my labour, and these have been painted by Mark Dunham (MD Lures). A huge thanks to Mark, your help is invaluable mate!! Many of the blanks below Mark gave me, legend!
