The more Proffered DIAWA reels??

Just a simple question. What are the more proffered Diawa spin reels around the 2000-2500 size and at the price range of around $100-$200???

Whatever colour takes your fancy. Caldias can be had for around 220 i believe and are quite a solid reel.

Where are you getting a Caldia for $220 in Australia Jeremy? They're more like $300-350. Reels to look at are the Freams (probably the pick)the Ballistic and the Lexa. They are all good reels and will come in either under budget or only 20 or so over.

You might be able to get your hands on an old Caldia (The white one) within that price range if some place has any stock left.

Great reel. Had mine for nearly three years now and still rock-solid.

The most proffered diawa real on ebay is the sweepfire, its a piece of junk. Pick em up for 20 bucks.

My most preferred Daiwa reel is the 153hsta baitcaster, I dont use spinning reels ecept for bait fishing with the kids.

Either way Sari you should go into a tackle store and have a feel of that price range of daiwas and see what you prefer.

Wouldn't get any of them.

If you don't wish to take any advice and your choice is one of those four mentioned, get the Emeraldas. Pretty much an egi specific Caldia.

As a couple of people have responded, in that price range, the PREFERRED DAIWA reel would be the Freams.

A mate of mine just bought a caldia 2004 (latest model) for $185 delivered from Japan. It was around a week ago when the dollar was stronger.

I got my aird on special at anaconda for $89. Comes with a spare spool. Plenty of grunt and very smooth. Look after it well and you'll get a life time out of it!

If you want something better, i'd look at the freams

Daiwa Caldia from Jap is the best bet..

Ive gotten 3 of them and love em'.

aird 2500 has 4kg of drag the freams 2500 has 7kg of drag plus the oil seal really is a no brainer to me.
