queensland EP? 29/6/2013 report

Hi guys,

Just doing another report from this weekend

So i went out fishing this saturday despite the weather man telling me

how to live my life... to my success it only lightly sprinkled now and then not even enough

for an umbrella.

started the day at the spit gold coast, to no avail the went to broadwater and snagged a fair few fish only a couple worthy of pics the rest where babies

But then when i was about to go a little voice inside my head said to keep looking around for weird spots and VOILA!

can anyone tell me the story on the last guy? is he a perch or bass i caught him in the gold coast canals my first bass or perch either way, AND WHAT A FIRST!

Btw! caught him on 6lb fluro and a atomic prong!

Nice fish mate, I was out around Hamilton area near Bretts Wharf and though I had lots of bites, I hooked up nothing (except for a whiting fingerling).

I think I need to travel like down the coast to catch some fish or out in a boat.

I'd say a bass considering the location, head isn't scooped enough for an EP and the anal fin is edged with white. EP's have a more solid coloured fin.

Well done on the catch mate and although an odd capture not that unusual most likely came from Clear Island Waters after some heavy rain.

You should check out some of Suntag's recapture data. I remember seeing at least one Bass that went from North Pine Dam up the Brisbane River...

For some reason I thought I remember seeing a few others move to different river systems, but maybe I'm getting mixed up with some of the Barra recaptures
