How cool is this...

Mick Hassett using his Nordic Stage Amulet sample up in North Qld came across this interesting sooty grunter... Very cool pigment variations!

Wicked looking fish, Almost looks like the lovechild of a sooty and an estuary cod or soomething.

Looks more piebald than brindle.

Great camouflage in sun-dappled water though.

That is a cool piebald sooty, interesting morph mostly normal chromatophores with amelanistic patches.

Just a recessive thing? Pigment related?

Gene is recessive.
