Fish ID Please, common toothy on Mermaid Reef

Hi, just wondering if someone could tell me what this is, they are common on the Mermaid reef.

There are quite a few varieties, but all have great grinning mouths full of sharp teeth.

I have been experimenting with hardbody trolling in around 5 metres of water and grinners just love it. About as much fun as bringing in a wet sock.

Ive been absolutely smashing the grinners lately....... Glad to hear they're top bait.

Few tips for newbies, best and most expensive bait you can find, big sinker to keep it on the bottom and get as close to reef balls or structure as possible but just far enough away so that peskie snapper don't steal the bait.
