Barra Soft Plastics

Hey guys,

Im heading up to Ayr for a wedding and will fit some fishing in. Usualy have just fished with live bait for barra. Want to try out some SP. You guys suggests what types and colours to use.

big squidgy fish in the killer tomato colour seems to get quite a few. the slick rigs from the same brand also are taking there share! hope this helps

i have heard slick rigs are great but thats just what i have heard its not like i have done it myself or anything i wish

I've been doing very well using Bozos 100 and 125mm mullet. These are available either rigged (best) or unrigged and swim really strongly when worked dead slow. Best colours depend on the water you're fishing but for saltwater try \"dipstick\", \"flickin\" and \"grouse\".

Yeah the guys on the GC all are raving abou tthe Bozos. I have heaps of others left from last year but I might have to get a few Bozos for this trip.

I am also going to try some plastic snakes and extra long worms this. I'll use em unweighted with big gun hooks and stingers. But that's only after I have satisfied my primal need and boated enought trolling.

What size gig head do you want for chasing bara with 5 inch SP. Do you want the SP to hit the bottom?

if you're snag bashing use a resin head or just a bare hook

try Tsunami's or Squidgee's already with hooks and lead in them. Otherwise start with something around a no 2/0. I've got some 2/0's with 1/4 oz head for 6inch plastics I am going to use at Awoonga next week.

we tried those bozos on some hungry cobes, they usually eat anything thrown at them but on that day not a touch on a bozo and half a dozen caught on baits, doesnt prove much but i expected they be good.
