Hi AFO team,

Im sure a post like this has popped up in the past (the site is something like 9yrs old). But i think everyone gets some benefit from learning how everyone one else operates and what rig / setup the use. Plus we have spent so much money on them, if nothing else its just a post to put up a pic or two of your pride and joy.

SO, what rig and setup to you have.

Not the best photos of my setups but ill post them anyway!

I have 5 setups i use for bass fishing from creeks to dams. Used to be 6 but i had an incident with my ice jigging rod :(

Pic 1 is my creek setup running a samurai 101 (1-4pound) and a 1000 size daiwa fuego, second setup is a samurai 201 (2-6pound) with a daiwa steez 2508 (good all rounder), 3rd setup is a steez machine gun type 1 8-16pd rod with a steez casting reel (great for spinnerbaiting and lipless cranks), setup number 4 has since been upgraded, I used to have an ns medusa but snapped it a few months back :( (rip) so i have upgraded it to a daiwa td commander 2-4kg casting rod with a daiwa liberto pixy reel.  my 5th setup which i have just purchased is a 4-9kg daiwa generation black with a tatula casting reel ( this is more so for jacks but works well in the dam with big swim baits, jerkbaits, tn 70s etc)

Anyway, i could go on a lot more about lures leaders braid etc but this is just a quick write up of what i use when chasing bass around the gold coast and hinze dam.

Tight lines, Glenn.

Was about to post photos of my boat cos I saw this thread in the 'boating' category :P. Don't have photos of my gear on my phone, will have to post later :)

That is actually a good point. Was this meant to be boats or rod/reel combos?

Wow, you guys sure have a wide and varied array of gear!

I've had pretty much the same gear since I was a kid, with the obvious rods becoming longer as I became taller! I have two main rigs. I have a 12'6" fibreglass surf rod paired with a 6" deep spool bakelite/stainless Alvey with 15lb Schneider. My main estuary/freshwater rig is a 7' Shimano solid glass tipped rod with granddad's 4" bakelite/stainless Alvey with 9lb Schneider.

To compound things my wife just bought me a heavier 7' Shimano rod with a Shimano threadline reel. Still having teething issues after a life of using side casts. With my background in the surf and FNQ the durability of the Alvey has won out for me (and being able to winch fish up the rocks is nice too!)
