1770 & Whitsunday's Photos Pic Heavy

@samsteele115 and I headed off for a road trip north with no set plans. Our first stop was 1770 for a few days then onto Airlie beach to see the Whitsunday islands. I have not had time to put a report together and will be back to work on Monday since we cut the trip short buy over a week because of the pending cyclone stirring things up. So for those that have not seen the photos on other social media here some are.

Some highlights of the trips was Sams 75cm Red on a Zman soft plastic.

Having Spanish Mackerel hitting our poppers and stick baits and SP's and becoming airborne coming 2-3 meters out of the water.

Catching a Spanish on an un-weighted SP on the surface.

Having a 20+kg GT have a go at my popper but no hook up.

A nice trev at 94cm

Caught 6 small coral trout on lures but not one was legal. However I lost a very good fish that I believe to be a trout half way up.

Whitehaven beach on Whitesuday Island was beautiful.

The weather was hot humid and raining most days with the only really good sunny day being the morning we went to Whithaven beach.

The new boat is a winner and will be better when I change a few small things.

Want to go back to the Whitesunday's to explore more.

I may put some more photos up in coming days.

Cheers,

Wayne

Great trip and fish mate and love the last photo, very creative. Bit worried about the second Whitehaven photo though ...... on a desserted beach ...... 'you can leave your hat on ' .............:devil:

It was more like "where ever I leave my hat, that's my home@ John Paul Young.?

Can't wait for the actual report !

Looks like a great trip Wayne.

Could be while before and if I get to the report Luke. I am rewiring the boat because of imposters calling them selves electricians. Pathetic tradeship. The previous owners brother.

What an amazing trip you guys did and catching some great fish was just an added bonus.

If you need anything or any advice to help sort out the boat Wayne, just yell out mate.

Only too glad to help out and get the new ship ready for some serious offshore work.

Thanks Lance, will do. A change of canopy is the main thing. Most other things are just tidying up and relocating stuff.

A hard top would suit that boat just nice, something like Julian has on his Yalta with some quality clears to fill in between the hard top and windscreen

A little to expensive the hard top option unfortunately. Thinking of going a stainless steel folding targa type with rocket launchers. Can use the frame to hold on to when going up the front.

Some great fish and pics there mate. Looks a great place to explore.

As we discussed we would have liked to met you but unfortunately it wasn't to be. The weather was not on our side. We made the right decision in running home early to avoid Debbie.
