Jimmy, That looks like a Smith's jig, an extremely old pattern that is still made by many manufacturers including Halco. Were once popular with commercial tuna poling boats. Strangely enough they still catch fish. I saw a young fellow catching bonito on one from the rocks in northern NSW last year.

Buzz. At the tip German Church Road Redland Bay. open 8 till 4 thursday to Sunday. It is only about 1 k from home. That is the first decent score I have had for about a month, You just have to be there at the right time.

Jimmy you can have the smiths jig if you want it.

Brian they are yours gratis.

3 other lures

the top one is a lively lure with an aluminium bib that has been repainted.

Middle one who knows looks like it has caught a lot of fish in its time as most of paint is wirn off.

Bottom one Smiths Jig??

Nice score Ray

That pink and white squid

We used to use a smaller one that you put a barrel sinker up its butt and a biggish hook behind it to catch southern blue fin tuna :woohoo:

It was all they would take

haven't seen them for years :(

Has any one seen a smaller version about 50mm long ???

would like to try em up here ;)

Gaz
