Moogerah Dam

Hey Gents.

 

Does anyone know how Moogerah Dam is fishing atm? Going out for a few days. What’s some good baits to use? I’ve got a good tub of worms but also few lures.

Also, what do the red claw tend to go for out there.?

I haven't heard any reports for ages, but take your shrimp pots as shrimp are the best bait.

Redclaw will go for cat biscuits in a little Tupperware container with holes in it. Otherwise a little leftover KFC will work.

Good luck Ryan, I’ve heard the bass fire up on sunset around the trees and lillies on surface lures and it can be quiet in the daytime. If you struggle catching any decent fish and want to hook up, give eel fishing a go. I went on a school camp near there once and one of the instructors was saying there are eels as thick as peoples legs in there.

Half cooked bit's of potato or rockmelon for redclaw. Worked well for me in Tinaroo dam.
