PFD advice for a new one to kayak fishing

Hello everyone

I trust Christmas Day has been great for all members.

Santa Claus has given me $75 of BCF gift vouchers.

Looking for any advice on a \"mid priced\" PFD to buy for kayak fishing. Looking to get a PFD suitable for river / creek / bay locations.

Any help from those with experience would be most appreciated!

Definately a vest unit, you will need to decide between a pdf1 and 2, (You need a 1 for exposed waters, which you may go into if you gong off Bribie or similar.

Lee had a ripper last time I saw him, but I think it was only a pdf2.

Then you need to decide between a vest type or an inflating type. I'd figure if your looking to stay in the range of your vouchers your looking at a vest type. The yakkers will be able to tell you if a PDF1 vest is usable or not (the head floats etc might be a pain when paddling)

Can go higher than the value of the vouchers actually.....should have said as much...

Got $'s as well and looking at total limit of around $150.

mate I have a Ultra Trek its awesome, loads of pockets and is designed to be used by paddlers. mine cost $125, BCF dont sell them I got mine from kayak warehouse at kawana
