Hinze Dam Yahoo!!!!!!!

Gold Coast council web site said Hinze now over 64% so I rang the rangers office and they say water has risen over one metre so western arm ramp should now be useable. Said may be a bit greasy at the moment but ok with 4wd. He said that there is still more water to come down.

Be interesting to fish there as it hasnt been accessable for a few months .

I'll be yakking there on the weekend. When you say western ramp do you mean the normal ramp or the ramp up the back country?

What does Steve say about fish at the moment?

That Numinbah ramp should be right now!

I battled the mud a couple of times there in December. We actually just used the canoes without the motors. Only had to move about 100m to catch fish. There were heaps of silver perch caught...all full of roe. There were also a few nice toga caught as well. My thinking for next weekend's Toga Comp was to fish the eastern arm on Sat and Western arm on Sunday. It means a bit of a drive around to the campsite on Saturday afternoon, but i think it would be good to have a go at both ends and keep the group together.

Hi Sports,

Is this ramp the one that the Scout clubs use for canoeing etc...

I have been there once only. No hits, but did see a huge surface swirl that could be toga (it was big). The area east of the ramp was very shallow and rocky.

Could you please confirm.

Basically North Pine has hardly moved, but the word is the concrete ramp at Kirkleigh has water on it for the first time in 5 years. So Ash should have an easy run this weekend!
