queensland Hinze dam sat 5/1/08

Heading to Hinze on Saturday morning the forecast is looking ok and the dam has had a big rise and is still rising so it will be a bit of a challenge to find the fish. Hopefully they will be on the chew.

Taking the usual shrimp and will be trying some spinnerbaits to tempt a toga.

Hoping to launch at 5 am at the intake tower at the eastern arm.

I might talk with Ferg, been a while since we got out. Wont get down there that early, so might need a good mud map if we decide to go! Dunno if any of my shrimp are still alive, but be good to just get out. Have not been fishing since the Classic!

Ray I am thinking about heading there myself. Seabreeze is predicting light winds early morning. I'll be in a granite coloured Viking Espri kayak.

I was wondering what would happen to the fish after all this rain. So you reckon they will be hard to tempt? I only use lures in the fresh will this make it harder to catch a fish?

The barometer is way down but hope the influx will get them on the chew.I will be in a old white quintrex with 3 fat old fellas in it.

BUT here's my problem. MY Tow vehicle will be south for the week so I can only take the Yak - unless my plan comes to fruit (hi Bommie).

I would love to take the Cannon ball (electric dam boat) as well as the yak but I can't get it there and would need a skipper for the ball.

It is all gravell and the water should be up about 2 m so should be good.
