queensland Fish for Lent

The pressure was on, the wifey wanted fish for Good Friday. Not only to feed us but her Granparents as well.

What better reason to go and sharpen my skill for the up comming AFO Bream/Snapper event.

Tried a few new things today with some good success, I was shown by Duncan at Fishead how to rig up a plastic on a weedless hook. Let me just say it worked, better hook ups without dropping fish and less snags. I boated 9 Snaps/Squire and all were solidly hooked in the corner of the mouth.

Came home with 3 good eating size fish, enough to feed the family.

Yeah mate, only fished the river a few times and got onto some decent Snaps. I have had more luck in the River during Winter, the peak of Snapper season

Looking forward to that comp I have to organise all the details for the Winter Camp, Kayak Camp and Squire & Bream comp over the weekend. I will try and have the details up by next week.

nice work stabs is that rig called a texas or somethin lee ann payne has put a fair few articles and pictures in QFM i think about it.

It might be mate, I have seen a similar rig but using a worm hook and running sinker
