Scottish Pike this Season

This ones for troy.

He was commenting that he had never seen one the, as he put it \"so called Scottish Pike\".

I told him about fishing for these when i was in Scotland and he seemed somewhat sceptical that a) a pike would be that big, and they would be good fighters.

Well i searched some fish that have been caught this season in a competition and you guys be the judge.

Does this look like a good fighting fish to you?

Nar jokes mate. They do look like a nice fish. It's a bugger the Pike aren't like that here. Every fish here seems to have bigger cousins over seas. I guess they would be the Barra of Europe? .

some nice examples of pike there angus !!

spent most of my fishing trip last week trying to steer hooked fish away from there mouths as the rivers were so low that the pike are having a field day with fish stocks !

There a good fighting fish on the rivers and lochs but on some lakes they tend to be a bit unfit compared to the pike living within running water.

As the shape suggests they have been made to attack prey at high speeds over a short distance so the fight doesnt tend to go on forever !

Still a bit warm over here to start to aim for them though but im having my first spinning trip for perch of the year tomorrow !

I'm kinda glad theres none in Australia because then we probaly wouldnt have aussie bass because they would have all been eaten! also then I wouldnt be swimming in the creeks or lakes.
