I am a newby HB user - started fishing with them at Easter. Specifically, my goal was to catch a Bream but would be happy to fool any stupid fish that fell for my inexperienced technique for my first fish.

Anyway, I went out to Colleges Crossing Friday with my new SX40s - and after 2-3 hours I finally got a decent hit and landed my first fish - a 25cm catty with a solid hookup - both trebles mouth and lip. Whoo Hoooo.

Yep best to start small and work your way up. If you caught a monster first go then you'd have very little to aspire to:)

If you are having trouble convincing yourself, it can easily be imagined that the other trebles were in it's mouth and dropped off during the fight:cheer: Either way, I count it;)

I reckon they try and clip the tail off to disable them so they can come back and chew on them later. Look how many bream get taken on the rear treble.

Your not alone mate. Takes most pple a while to get the rythem of hb's. My first after ages was a little flatty at maroochydoor . Hehe i got my first catty on hb yesterday to lol.. only got em on sp's b4 that.

I think what would have happened is the Bream was following it, and swerved away at the last second (as they always seem to do:angry:) and got hooked.

But in short terms, YES it counts:cheer:

It's my mates Seay Jay 4.15sp i believe, i'm on the tiller cause he's on the electric.
