queensland First proper fish and pb on lures (newstead)

Headed to newstead after work today and wanted to try out some lure fishing after all those awesome reports. Met adrian there and we made our way down the rock wall. First strike in 30 mins with a small bream but it got away. Adrian's soft plastic got bitten off soon after then it went boring. Haha. Decided to change to a g-vibe and after 10 mins, felt some weight on the line. Gave it a pull and low a behold, it was a fish! Few minutes later, a nice flattie appears. Adrian measured it at about 60cm. Nothing else happened after that but I left a happy man However, I think I'm still a bait fisho. Hehe
