Gulp lures

Hi could anyone let me know what the best size jighead to use on a gulp pumpkinseed lure 3" minnow

Depends what you are targeting. For Bream, a 1/16oz weight with a 1/0 hook is good. For Flathead, a bit heavier weight can be used. 1/0 seems to be the best hook size for them.

merida, just keep in mind a range of weights will be required in jigheads.

In strong currents or deeper waters you may want to use a heavier jighead to get down there quicker.

Yeah precisely for bream you really want to use the lightest jighead possible ... and for slightly bigger fish like flathead etc ... i use a 1/8 TT or Nitro jig head. You want it a little heavier for flathead so that you can really dig your plastic into the bottom for maximum effect.

my preference is 1/20 size #4 or #2 tt jighead, but keep some 1/16, 1/12 as well

Hook size depnds on the brand of Jigheads. I find that with TT jigheads a size 1 or 2 hook is fine, and with the Nitros a 2 or 4. the weight of course depends on where your fishing. Always try and keep as light as conditions will allow.
