trolling at Night v's Day

Just wondering what everyone else has found... is trolling better at night or day?

trolling for what species?

I have never trolled at night for large pelagic like mackeral, wahoo, marlin etc, but I have had some success with these fish during daylight hours. First light can be a good bite period. I don't knw anyone who does troll for large pelagics at night.

Yeh that is what a mate of mine was thinking too.. more the sunup sundown and day time..

Had success trolling over shallow reef up north on a full moon with poppers. Caught plenty of coral trout and even some macs.

Trolling deep divers on hot summer nights seem to be the go in barra impoundments.

its a lot safer to troll at day time for species like marlin etc but people drift around for swordfish

Done a lot of night trolling in the Goldie Canals. Important to watch the trolling depths of your lures, plenty of Rattles and eratic motion of lure and get yourself a decent Tackle Back
