Nearly all the poppers i have (only have 6 or 7) are rattling. I've only ever caught a couple fish on poppers and dont remember if they were rattling or not.

I dont think it would really matter as the splashes would bring most attention and I have caught fish on both rattle and non rattle popers. So i would get some of each and see what works best

the more noise the better even with the splashes.. but small movements work well at times also,

are

#1 Tiemco red pepper Rattle

#2 Megabass Dogx jr Rattle

# Strike pro Rack popper Rattle(almost silent)

These are a combintaion of poppers and pencils Both are great so i Guess imo rattles are very good :woohoo:

But remember Some have thier Day's

i use halco roosta poppers for bigger stuff, mostly queenies up north. they rattle like hell, make a huge splash and are dam effective. splash and noise are a lot more important than colour IMO. obviously they probably won't work too well for bream and whiting... :laugh:

Megabass Griffon Zero is a surface bait you can hear rattling a mile away. Hasn't caught me anything at NPD though... Yet:cheer:

Cause N.P is not the best dam for surface they would go off at maroon though should try them at the winter camp if your going.

Yeah I hear NPD is supposed to be terrible for surface. That's the main reason I've been trying just cause it is a challenge. I'll probably give it up soon though as the Bass seem to be holding deeper now.

Oh and nah, not heading to Maroon unfortunately.

so you guys use em for Bass?

I will have to do a bit of land based bass spinning.

I trialed one last night in the Brisbane river (I have this idea that I might catch a thready on one or some othe fish ).

It works pretty good.

what types of saltwater fish around the Brisbane area can you target with these?
