Noosa River (New Question)

Hi Everyone,

Thinking of taking SWMBO for a yak somewhere on the Noosa River tomorrow, where can I pick up some fish and best place to launch, never fished the Noosa before, any thoughts appreciated.

just troll SX40's over random sandflats and your bound a 96cm flattie eventually lol

nah in all seriousness, woods bay early for surface trevs action then id think towards the mouth later in the day for a crack at large flatties

Launch from Claude Batten Dr, and just paddle around from there. Plenty of flathead available on the troll, cod and others in structure. That's where we caught Terry's 96cm flatty.

Yeah al as the boys said Woods bay Early with surface lures and metals for Trevs and Taylor and some flattys trevally,queenies etc around the mouth with softies and hardbodys later in the day. Another area worth a shot is up beween lake cooroybah and cootharabah some awesome water up there

Ok, is Woods Bay between the National Park and Noosa Parade??, and, are their any restricted areas or habitat zones around there??

No restricted zones Al, Yeah ill be there just head right to the end of the walking track round to the nudist beach you will find me there being at one with nature :ohmy:

You can fish the river - easy...sx40's/60...poppers!

Ocean - launch at 1st cove! depending on the wind direction head to the headland sticking close to shoreline. If its a North Wester (The fish don't bite on NW winds according to the chaps at Davo's Bait and Tackle and I think they are correct) blowing I wouldn't head out on the ocean further than the headland as you will have a headwing coming back into the beach, that wind heads towards Coolum. If the wind is light 5-10kph SW/SE then you have the option of Halls, Little Halls, Jew Shoal or if the conditions are really good Sunshine Reef.

Trolling Gold Bombers, Deep diving lures you will pick up a Palegic. If you are targeting snapper then soft plastics or pillies on ganged hooks will work a treat as they have been getting good snapper up their way.

if you launch earlier enough you might see Billy Bob Watson out there.....follow him around as he really does know the area....

Snapper seem to be the go out on the reefs...its a longish paddle but worth it!
