Fishing Bribie

Fished southern end of Bribie on Thursday around Skirmish Point and Red Beach area chasing a few Tailor. Weather was perfect with light S/West winds but tailor were nowhere to be seen. Caught a couple of undersize Mackeral and a nice Sole plus a few good Sand Crabs. Moved over to Red Buoy off Godwin Beach an picked up a good feed of quality Diver Whiting. A very pleasant day on the bay.

Hi Angus,

I'm pretty sure they were just underize School Mackeral. I haven't caught any Snapper around Skirmish Point but have caught some good ones in a spot off Pebble Beach. We were fishing from my 4.2m Stessco Catcher, I don't trust parking my car in the Red Beach or Skirmish Point car parks.

I dunno if its just me but i never can manage to get anything decent at bribie. I think the only decent thing i got was a winter whiting and a few small tiger prawns in the cast net. I think i need to adopt a new game plan. It seems plastics are the new way to catch fish in bribie and the pumistone passage.
