fly fisherman help please

hey guys

well, its that time!

time to build me up a saltwater fly rod

what im after is something that will handle, tuna, macks, snapper and pretty much most things i will encounter in Moreton Bay

i was thinking a 9 weight, but im not much of a fly fisho

what do you all think? what blank should i go with?

weight? length? pieces?

at the moment, IMX loomis is probably the max amount of money id be willing to spend (around 200)

and if you could recomend a good quality, not super expensive reel and fly line that'd be good aswell

Dont have any answers but awesome tom, looking foward to learning the wand one time soon myself, maybe just a light 6wt or somthing for trevs, tailor flattys, bream, tarpon, ect, threadys take flies to .

I didn't think the reel quality was important with fly fishing?

its not really, its only to hold line

but with a heavy saltwater rod, that is gonna get (hopefully) fast running pelagics on the end it needs a pretty decent drag system

rod is the most important
