queensland Noosa's the place for Jacks!

Hi everyone!

The fishing up here has been awesome lately, and it can only get better with water temps rising everyday!

Jacks have really been on the cards lately, and true to form Tim has been smashing them! Light gear is really giving him the edge as we're fishing places where plenty of people are trying to do the same thing!

Slowly worked gladiator prawns are the go for this sort of fishing, and don't hesitate to go light!

Between Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharabah is a great place for jacks too, (this area is known as "between the lakes") and big hard bodied lures work well here, as well as soft vibes.

mixed in with the jacks have been some nice flatties, like this big model! There's actually been plenty of reports of these big girls moving around, particularly near the mouth.

Speaking of the mouth, the lower end of the river is still going strong, with tarpon and trevally keeping us entertained between jack bites!

By this stage, I was pretty frustrated by not getting into these jacks, and it wasn't untill I "borrowed" Tim's Megabass 100mm Anthrax that my luck changed!

16lb leader in some pretty gnarley structure and current proved to be just enough as I landed this stonker 58cm jack! Oh, and I was land based one very lucky capture indeed.

After a few pictures and heaps of high fives, we let the the jack go to hopefully fight another day! Definitely one of my most memorable moments as an angler!

Dubbzy, I don't think I've ever heard of or seen a jack go belly up from releasing. They seem very hardy

Great write up, so envious of those catches. Been having visions of getting my first jack every time I blink. Just a little obsessed.
