no mate.

this is the BRC (brisbane river classic) it's a comp. to put in a fish you have to regester when the comp is on which is late November. then you get a number and three days to catch heaps.

mate, it's in November. when it happens there is a tent at comslie recreational reserve which you go and sign up. they give you a number and you catch fish. so it isn't happening for like 11 months.

don't worry too much there will be other comps until then, also there is a post by maxi, choose your weapon, it's a small lure comp, check i out, search it in forum search bar.

mate there will be events coming up through the year that will be anounced when dates are set etc. there will be plenty of notice given in the forum about these and also are put up on the home page. best advice i can give is get out there and fish and have fun trying diffrent spots and methods as they may come in handy for other events and check the forums but dont worry there will be some coming up soon enough.

Just curious, what was the criteria for best misc fish?

Hey Tacklebox, the stats were guided by these figures.

Flathead: 15 points + 1 point per cm

Threadfin Salmon: 0 points + 1 point per cm

Estaury Cod: 10 points 1 point per cm

Jew/Mulloway: 30 points + 1 point per cm

Mangrove Jack: 50 points + 1 point per cm

Trevally: 20 points + 1 point per cm

Moses Perch: 15 points + 1 point per cm

Snapper/ Squire: 20 points + 1 point per cm

Whiting: 15 points + 1 point per cm

Other: Judges Decision + 1 point per cm

The points were based on:

* Rarity of the species.

* Skill to catch.

* Fighting ability of the fish.

Obviously we can adjust these as new trends etc occue in the River, however I personally think the points system worked really well.

Cheers.

Angus

There is an article written on outlining the criteria table already that was published during the competition. Find it under the Brisbane River Classic main menu.

I agree, it would've been a tough one to judge and you guys did a great job. I was just wondering where Kreel's 46cm bar-tailed flattie came in the mix. He's still chuffed about 3rd longest cattie! :silly:
