New Gear For Origin

Woo hoo. Last day of work before origin! Then a Wednesday trip offshore. Thursday spent getting everything organised for the comp and away! Cant wait!

Just wanting to know if anyone has got any new secret weapons for the event. Its been good to see so many AFO blokes come in and see me for this purpose by the way! :P

Those new Berkley Soft Plastics (like a mini Mask Vibe) have been popular so it will be interesting to see their success rate.

I am also getting a 1-3kg rod for my Twin Power 1000.

I dont know what yet but I plan on doing some lure shopping of my own today while I am work.

Looks like the weather is favouring us as well!

Mate where do I start... 2 x Saemi 50s, Damiki mu, 2 x Damiki vibes, Damiki SPs, couple of new poppers and assorted other gear...

Can't wait, on days off now and as mustard... Actually will head out today and grab a couple of gulp 5 inch in my favourite blue pepper neon.

I'm actually not all that worried about fishing this trip, I've got a heap of small lures I got off Rob a while back I've hardly ever used, I'll have the gear, but probably wont even leave the park. More looking forward to a relax and bit of socialising!

ok, bit the bullet and bought some gear today. When sorting the gear last night I realised that I didn't have enough small spinning reels, it was a choice of lend daughter one of my reels or run a 4000 series on the 2-4 kilo rod I have put in for her.

So being a realist about the likelihood of my reel surviving, it was down to BCF for a quick look this morning (well anaconda first, but they were not open at 8:30, so up the road to BCF). Pacemaker ready for the sticker shock, I was surprised to find the reel I had in mind for her was slightly less than the price as advertised on Mo Tackle.

So for $56 she is now the owner of an Okuma Calynn 20. Which is about the size of a 50 series reel. It will take 80 metres of 4lb, just the thing for her for the Brunswick river.

I also forgot that I had already bought a fair amount of plastics and jig heads before the previous date, found them in the shed, as well as some ebay bream sized lures, because the boys said they wanted to try some hard bodies. ( They are the cheap ones you buy by the kilo ;) )
