Me and my mate have been fishin at breakky lately is there any particular area to cast to catch the threadies or jews or is it just luck of the draw.

stand at the point facing the water to the left of the pontoon and cast out as far as you can.

the rocky point left of the jetty- you can see the tide line out pretty far from there. im sure that is where it drops off pretty deep..if ya can get a bait out to there, can be jew caught.. a pretty hefty cast needs to be made thou

when i used to fish that spot in brekky creek 20yrs ago we would often catch 9 fish in an hr and a half on fresh or live banana prawns. I gaffed a 22kg threadfin off that jetty many years ago.

Another great spot is up near the mcdonalds in albion. near leo muller toyota. first of the run out with either banana prawns or poddies. we have sight cast to jew here at night under the nearby bridge with 6 inch nilsmaster invincibles.

Where can you buy fresh bait in Brisbane? I use steak or chicken, and although it is mildly successful, I'd really like to get my hands on some mullet strips or live prawns.

fish markets (samios girl, hamilton; or the asian supermarket in Sunnybank)...but you're really better off getting a cast net.

better yet, become friends with a beam trawler operator in the river and get your prawns live like i do

Cool thanks for the info. Yeah my mate has caught 2 so far and i've never caught anything decent at breakky so i might try that other spot. So is that near the boat ramps or is it further along that road. Yeah caught some decent size prawns at breakky though they never end up on the hooks my on the plates at my house .
