queensland Thinking of heading to Wivenhoe

Hey guys

A mate and i are thinking of taking the yaks to Lake Wivenhoe next weekend.

Was just wondering what works best around there, were thinking of just trolling lures around throughout the day for some bass. Just wondering how its fishing atm?

Also, i think i might have asked this question before but do you need a fishing permit for wivenhoe if your under 18, and if you do, were would we be able to purchase one from.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes you need a permit, you can buy them online and print them out.

i have only ever launched at logans so can not pass on info for other launch spots, but wivenhoe web page should have locations!

The question was does a person under 18 need a permit and the answer is NO.

Before you go fishing in any of Queensland's dams, check the list below to see if you need a permit, called a Stocked Impoundment Permit (SIP). These are the 33 dams where a SIP is required.

You only need one permit per couple (married or de facto), and those under 18 do not need one at all.

trolling around wivenhoe this time of year you will end up with about 10 000 catties and you will be real lucky to get any bass big w is one of our bass dams that fish way better in winter way to many catties around in the warmer months

The word on Bass on Big W in summer, is quite lures, fast retrieves or troll speed.
