Just got email from Steve wilkes detailing this years trips. He has upgraded his website since I last looked and its well worth while having a look and he has some really good trips planned including to the Swains. Have a read and spend a while looking around his website. Steve is a long term sponsor of the site and I can personally recommend his operation.

Cheers

Dear All

Just letting you know about Sports Tuition’s upcoming events. We have some exciting fishing trips coming up which include the reef, estuaries and some new fly fishing destinations too. The ½ day and full day fishing charters at Hinze Dam will also continue throughout the year. If you would like to coordinate a fishing weekend group for Hinze, please let me know, I have a couple of dates available.

We will be conducting a winter survivor camp this year, but we’re also offering a ski trip which is also open to family bookings (limited places remain).

The next event is the fishing weekend at Hinze Dam, so if you’re looking for a last minute school holiday activity, it would be great to have you along.

School Holiday Fishing Weekend

16-17 January 2010 – Fishing Weekend (Hinze Dam). All students must be accompanied by at least one parent /guardian. Grandparents are also most welcome.

Cricket Coaching

Places for Term 1 Cricket Coaching at Bottomley Park (Easts’ Rugby Ground) are now available.

April School Holiday Camp

6-8 April 2010 – Survivor Camp for 8-13 year olds (Hinze Dam). Bus transport will be available.

Special Events Advance Notice

4-9 July 2010 - Thredbo Ski Trip. Open to 11-14 year olds if travelling alone. Younger students are also welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Family bookings are welcome for all age groups. We have secured a much cheaper rate by booking as a group and the kids can have the social aspect of skiing & having night activities together.

Yellow Patch (3 hours off Gladstone) is an idyllic location which offers shelter in all weather. When the mother ship is anchored in a channel close to the dune and beach it is easy to swim, climb and board down the dune as well as having easy access to the nearby estuaries for crabbing and the beach and tidal sand banks for whiting. Barramundi can also be caught in the estuaries; however, it's closed season, and therefore, no barra can be kept. If the weather permits (<15knots), close reefs (reefs within the Capricorn/Bunker group) will be explored, targeting Coral Trout, Red Emperor and Sweet Lip.

Other activities include; Sand tobogganing, snorkelling, jet skiing, mud crabbing and yabby pumping.

Minimum age for children is 10

Limited Places...please express interest early so we can secure the boat.

Fly Fishing Destinations

During 2010 there will be a number of fly fishing trips. Destinations include; Victorian Highlands, New Zealand, Canada & Scotland. All information will be posted on the website in due course, but to express early interest in these trips, please email steve@sportstuition.com.au

The first Victorian Highlands trip will be 12-15 February 2010. Maximum 4 people...please email for further details.

Details for all the activities are available at www.sportstuition.com.au

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. I look forward to catching up with you again in 2010.

Kind Regards
