scientific name for redclaw species found in NPD

hey any one know if the redclaw from NPD are Cherax Destructor or Cherax quadricarinatus?

just wondering as one will burrow into a dam and the other wont.

Mate I think the cherax destructor are the ones found out West of the divide, they are the scientific name for the ones we used to get in Victoria. Not sure of the scientific name for Redclaw

Yep, the C. Destructor are the native Blue Claw Crayfish. Usually the blue yabbies that kids fished for with a bit of salami on a string

While not a listed noxious pest in our region, it is certainly been moved outside of its natural range. It is illegal to return this species to the water or translocate to other water ways. Being an unregulated species, their are no size or bag limits for this species outside of its natural range.
