queensland NPD 14/3/10 Fisheries but no fish.

Went to dam this morning not really expecting much but forever the optimist.Checked pots on way down and not many redclaw as the pots have been in for a while and no bait was left.

I rebaited them and also moved them to a new location.Baitfished for no result and trolled around and actually had a hit on a Nadderzam but no hook up.

Stopped fishing around 9.30 and checked pots on the way back.Quite a few of the pots were really loaded with up to 20 redclaw in them after only 3 hours.

Ended up with 3/4 esky full around 100 redclaw.

Got back to the ramp and was just walking up the hill to the car and the fisheries patrol arrived.

Had quite a long chat to them and looks like one of them and her father will end up applying for a permit this year.

They had just been down below the dam wall and busted a few people and after speaking to me they decided to go up to Kobble creek and the Cemetary for a look. They said that they would probably be hanging around the area for a few days next week to try and stop the meatos.

Meat fishers keep everything they catch dont care about closed seasons,bag limits protected species.

bad luck about the bass but at least your not going without some redclaw

Good job with the Fisheries people. We need to help them out as much as we can to bust these theives.
