WayneD's Viking Espri

Here is my Espri. I bought her back in July 2006. Since then I have put two flushmount rod holders in the back, made a milk crate fit in to the rear well with some modifications and made up a sounder bar. About the only other thing I need is a scotty rod holder to troll with. [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/yakonpeel.JPG

Angus

It takes about two hours to paddle from Cleveland Point to Horseshoe Bay, about 9kms. We mainly bait fished off the beach at night over there, didn't try for any squire. Here's a pic of the six yaks lined up on the beach after we arrived at Horseshoe bay.

I have only been out in the bay a couple of times but plan on getting out there more often so I may see you [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/yaksonbeach.JPG

Wayne, great pics thanks for that.

I noticed that you have a 10 foot tinny with a 3.3hp.

How do you find that sort of rig? I am thinking about getting a small one 10-12 foot and up to 6 hp but I wasn't sure if that would be enough power. I just want it for canals and estuary work...1 or 2 people, what do you think.

Appreciate your advice (or any other informed good samaritan)

Rocket

Your right it is not much power but then again compared to my yak it is easy going. If you are patient you will get to where you want to be eventually.

Two people max as by the time you fit everything in there is not much room left in my little 10 footer.

Here's a pic of the boat loaded with a typical outing by myself. By the time you put in castnets, livewell bucket, anchor, tackle boxes, eskies, rods, crabpots there is not much room left [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/MyBoat.JPG

Fisher - I have seen a hobie with an outboard on it but it is only usual to see them with electrics

Tom - we make between 3-4 knots on a good day.

Kezza - on the trip back we were faced with 1-1.5m swell that was a bit scary but the yaks just rolls over the waves.
