moluscs for bait

are moluscs any good to use as bait? you know the freshwater ones

i was thinking that they might be pretty gun for bream as they eat oysters and it might taste the same or so but is the consistency right to stay on the hook

Oztrav why dont you just use some oysters for those oyster munching bream???

As for consistency rub them with some salt and let dry out for a day then they harden up enough to stay on the hook..Tho not to good for long casting but are great to hang over the side of your boat when fishing the racks....

cause oysters are expensive and the tinned ones fall apart when you look at them

Tru tru Oztrav its just something I did while i was farming oysters for abit of fun...or maybe gather a few wild ones for bait..cunji works just as good too..

Mate there also called \"sea squirts\" give that a try...

Travis: It looks like coral or moss covererd rocks down by the salt water. When you step on it it squirts a jet of water.

I think in regards to Molluscs someone was saying that they got three 3 catties in the nortpine the other day in them? Anyway thats in the reports somewhere.
