Cast net and fishing rod advice

Hey we are just starting out and looking into getting a cheap cast net up to $30 would anyone have an ideas where i could find one in that price range?

We are also just starting with rods we bought crappy $15 ones and they are ok but are now looking at up grading to something up to about $80 would anyone have any dvice on which cheap rods are better what ones to avoid and what we should be looking at when we buy them. We are land based fishing and looking more at the 7-9ft rods. Thanks for the help guys!

For cheap cast nets try ebay. Just dont get a 6 foot one. Waste of money seriously. At least 8 but id go 10 footer.

People get conned into getting smaller nets to begin with. But once you know the tecnique the bigger ones are ironically easier to cast.

Rods are a harder question. What sort of fishing to you want to do?

BigW. They will have a combo that suits your price range. If you're just after a rod you will do well there as well. Even cast nets.

well we are doing land based fishing round the river and off the jetty at sandgte etc. we are mainly after bream and flathead

Well teh drop shot could be suitable.

Or alternatively, as Ellicat mentioned you can pick up some pretty good combo's from places like BigW, K-Mart etc that would have no worries handling most bream, flathead, whiting etc.

hey bud, $40 for a 6ft cast net at the Alrounder Angler here in Caboolture..I had to buy one a few weeks back and yes its a small one but it good quality and it does the job..and are alot stronger then the sure cast brand...
