Ferg has gone home to Giru for a week's R&R to visit his dear old mum.

Apparently visiting dear old mum involves 2 hours of casting poppers in the creek behind the house for a total of 4 Barra and 20 Tarpon in 2 hours.......

Vicki says the sod also had a 10 minute shower, and left the tap running while cleaning his teeth!

Now thats my idea of a holiday!

Giru is about 30 mins south of Townsville and is only very small. I have cousins that live there and I am very surprised to hear it mentioned!!!

Don't know who Ferg is but he probably knows my aunty and uncle, Jan and Ken Baker. Everyone knows everyone in Giru.

I used to go up there as a youngster and go fishing in the Houghton River all the time. Great fishing, my brother once caught a 127cm barra there. Good memories.
