sorry didn't read the post fully. It has got me stumped... Take a photo round to Robbie at Forster Fishing Charters or John at the Action Dive boat. They should be able to help you out.

How much longer you down for mate?

We head back north on Sunday. I'll be hitting the lakes a cpl of times before we leave. will let you know when we have some definate times to see if you are available

It kind of looks like aa knife jaw but they are only caught on the shelf. How deep was the water around the fad?

Water was at about 80m and around 23-24 degrees.

Taken a pic around to Barclay marine and no-one there knows either.

Could I have discovered an unknown fish. Maybe this will be my claim to fame!!!!

A young Cottonmouth Trevally, Uraspis secunda.

Inside mouth is stark white. Often found around floating objects in open water

I asked Jeff Johnson from the Queensland Museum for the ID
