Carbontex Drag Washers

Has anyone upgraded their reels to Carbontex drag washers for more drag and smoothness?

Yes well worth doing turned a lumpy well used abu back into a sweet reel.

Did you change the washers or get them changed at a shop?

I can't get the Carbontex Drag Washers that you have in Oz.

I use the carbon fiber 1mm thick washers that Penn has in their big spinning reels to upgrade my Shimano Baitrunner, Thunnus and Spheros reels for smoothness and double the drag. Shimano reels all have 1mm thick felt washers.

I changed them myself and from memory it was a bit of a fiddle.The smoothies are also a nice set of washers and have lots of models. What reel are you trying to upgrade?

Most of our Yellowfin Tuna are less than 100# but some get 200#, I want to upgrade my popper spinners for them.

I tried to post this Pic at 498x479 but it was too big, I cut it to 425X396.
